University Affirmative Action Plan

OASIS Student Service

Counseling Services now promotes OASIS, an online application that assists with mental health. Users are able to increase awareness of mental health, decrease stigmas associated with mental health and gain access to additional mental health resources.

OASIS offers the following:

Enroll/Waive Student Blue Insurance

Students are required to have health insurance either by remaining on their parents’ insurance or buying an individual insurance plan. Students without insurance may purchase the Student Blue Student Health Insurance. Students will be automatically billed (on tuition account) and enrolled in the Student Blue coverage, unless a waiver is completed by the semester due date Sept. 12.

University Writing Center Hours and Services Offered
The University Writing Center, located in the General Classroom Building, Room 309, is currently open, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Students may walk-in during these hours or make an appointment online at ncat.mywcoline.com. Online help is also available from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Students can receive help with thesis development, essay and paragraph development, sentence structure, avoiding run-on sentences, comma splices, sentence fragments, grammar, punctuation, research essay writing, source citation, business writing, and personal statements along with any other writing needs. The Writing Center also offers classroom visitations.

If you would like for a writing consultant to visit your classes to briefly introduce the UWC, please let us know. COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination/Boosters Available
Testing is easy and free for students and employees, available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the Alumni Foundation Event Center and the Blount Student Health Center. Vaccination and booster shots are also free and available at the Alumni Foundation Event Center and the Student Health Center Pharmacy. 

Flu Vaccine Available

The Student Health Center is now offering the flu shot for this upcoming winter months! Please come by the Student Health Center during our current business hours.
Pharmacy Hours- Mon- Fri: 8 a.m. to 5p.m.
Clinic Hours- Mon- Fri: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please be advised that upon receiving the shot your insurance will be billed.

TogetherAll - Student Support

Counseling Services has partnered with an online service called TogetherAll to provide 24/7 support to students. Students can register with their Aggie email, provide quick demographical information (can also remain anonymous) and in 3 minutes have access to a counselor at any time. The service also provides mental health resources, peer support communities, creative outlets and more.

N.C. A&T Planning for In-Person Summer Camps

The university will return to in-person summer camp programs. As part of its risk management efforts, the university centralized the registration process for summer camps/sponsored programs. Faculty, staff, program directors, and other personnel organizing, leading, and managing these efforts must register all summer camps/sponsored programs through the Extended Campus via this link.

The Extended Campus supports the procedures for compliance with the Minors on Campus policy, which promotes the safety and well-being of minors entrusted to the University's care. All directors, camp personnel, and volunteers working with the camps will complete the mandatory online Protection of Minors Training. Women's Basketball Elite Camp - Registration Open Now

The Lady Aggies are holding Elite Camp on June 11 and June 18 at Corbett Sports Center!
Elite Camp is for those entering grades 8-12.

Registration is open now and is open to any and all entrants.

University Space Planning Committee Survey
The University Space Planning Committee welcomes your feedback regarding a potential addition to our campus. As N.C. A&T continues to improve our spaces on campus, we are committed to providing spaces that accommodate a diverse set of needs. In this regard, we are exploring lactation rooms to be used by students, faculty and staff with infants. A lactation space is a private, hygienic space for nursing mothers and infants. University Employee Recognition & Awards Program Nominations Extended

Nominations have been extended to May 25, 2022 for nominating a full-time permanent SHRA or EHRA Non-Faculty employee for the University Employee Recognition & Awards Program. Nominees should be submitted to the Division of Human Resources/Employee Relations. Tuition Assistance Transition
Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.

SHRA Mandatory Information Security Training

The university is required to provide information security awareness training each year. Training for SHRA employees began Oct. 19. Topics will include information technology policies, fundamental security knowledge, common cyber security threats, social engineering red flags, WiFi security, social media sharing and phishing prevention. This training is mandatory for all SHRA employees.

The training is self-paced and each module can be paused and resumed. After module is completed, employees will be able to download a certificate of completion. The deadline to complete training is Thursday, June 30. Please contact Information Security Services at itsecure@ncat.edu if you have questions.

Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more.

The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.

BRIDGES 2022: Leading in a Time of Transformation - Registration Deadline July 15

BRIDGES is an inclusive professional development program dedicated to supporting cisgender or transgender women and nonbinary colleagues in higher education who seek to gain or strengthen their academic leadership capabilities, and/or individuals who demonstrate a commitment to supporting women and gender issues and equity in the academy. It is designed to help participants identify, understand, and build their
leadership roles in the academy. BRIDGES 2022 will be held Sept. 9-Nov. 12, 2022. Through an intensive program, participants will:

• develop insights into leadership, with a particular focus on the special skills and attributes unique to leadership roles
• acquire an understanding of the many facets of colleges and
universities
• build strategic negotiation skills, and
• create a program of personal and professional development to
benefit themselves and their institutions.

The cost of BRIDGES is $2,500, payable by July 15. See BRIDGES website for more information.

Counseling Services Support

If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis or having thoughts of suicide, please contact Counseling Services. Counseling Services provides trainings on suicide prevention.
