Testing is easy and free for students and employees, available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Alumni Foundation Event Center, next door to the Student Health Center. Vaccination and booster shots are also free and available at the Alumni Foundation Event Center and the Student Health Center Pharmacy.

Library Advisory Council
F.D. Bluford Library seeks new members to join the Advisory Council for Library Services. This group provides advice to the Dean of Library Services concerning library services needed to support teaching, learning and research. The Council meets once per semester. The Spring 2022 meeting will be held virtually in March. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to serve as committee members. Interested? Please contact Sarah Smith, srsmith1@ncat.edu, via email by Jan. 31, 2022 . Students should include their name, major, and classification (e.g., sophomore, junior). Faculty should include their name, email and department.
Tuition Assistance Transition
Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.
The university is required to provide information security awareness training each year. Training for SHRA employees began Oct. 19. Topics will include information technology policies, fundamental security knowledge, common cyber security threats, social engineering red flags, WiFi security, social media sharing and phishing prevention. This training is mandatory for all SHRA employees. The training is self-paced and each module can be paused and resumed. After module is completed, employees will be able to download a certificate of completion. The deadline to complete training is Thursday, June 30, 2022. Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.

These are both fully funded two-year scholarships with paid summer internships for second-year Aggie undergraduates in eligible disciplines related to the mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Annual Commemoration Celebration 2022 - Jan. 26The annual commemoration of the MLK Birthday celebration is in collaboration with Guilford College, Guilford Technical Community College, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This year’s program will be virtual. This year’s joint program theme: “I Come as One, But Stand As 10,000.” – by Maya Angelou
The program, Jan. 26, 6-7:30 p.m., will include a student-led panel discussion and entertainment from all representing campuses. 2022 Ronald McNair Celebration - Jan. 28 The 2022 Dr. Ronald E. McNair Commemorative Celebration will broadcast live on Jan. 28, at noon EST. The theme of the celebration this year is “Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Ronald E. McNair: Breaking Barriers: A Celebration of STEM Success”

The NC-LSAMP STEM Pathways and Research Alliance will hold its annual research conference on Jan. 28, 2022. This virtual conference will afford participants opportunities to engage in professional development and networking sessions, undergraduate research presentations and a graduate school recruitment fair. Winter 2022 Extraordinary OpportunitiesFeb. 1: Amgen Scholars Program
Eligible returning undergraduate students with a 3.2+ GPA and an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. or M.D.-Ph.D. in the sciences are encouraged to apply. This fully funded program can help you conduct hands-on research in the labs all across the U.S. and in Asia alongside top faculty, participate in seminars and networking events, and take part in symposia with their peers and leading scientists.
Feb. 11: Marshall-Motley Scholars ProgramThis program from the NAACP Legal Defense Fund is for those who want fight racial injustice in the South as a civil rights attorney; it includes a full-ride to the accredited law school of your choice, paid internships, and professional development.
Feb. 15: Rangel Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)This fully funded summer experience with Howard U. is open to sophomores (by credit) through graduating seniors who are interested in international affairs careers. Be sure to reach out early to Ms. Gallop, who has recruited A&T's three most recent Rangel SEP Scholars.

NC PKAL Regional Network STEM Education Meeting -Feb. 4N.C. A&T and UNCG will host the 2022 meeting of the North Carolina PKAL Regional Network: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in STEM: Practical Applications for the Classroom. The virtual meeting will be held on Friday, Feb. 4, 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The general registration fee is $55 per person; graduate student registration is $25 per person. The registration deadline is Jan. 27. Space is limited. Faculty and Graduate Students are encouraged to attend. Non-tenure-track STEM faculty are eligible to receive a registration fee waiver. Waivers are limited. First-come, first served. After they have been filled, they will not longer be displayed as an option on the registration page. 2nd Annual Health Equity Symposium Call for Proposals - deadline Feb. 7
Call for Proposals- Health Professionals for Equity in Health and Healthcare - This year's symposium will focus on Using multidisciplinary approaches to
examine the relationships between social problems and co-morbidities. We are seeking work that spans from the bench to the bedside, to community action. Proposal submissions (for individual presentations or 3-5 person panels) are welcome from all faculty, staff and students.
Please include: (a) a title, (b) name, affiliation, and contact information for the presenter, and (c) an abstract. Abstracts should be approximately 300-400 words (max. 400 words) and briefly detail the purpose of the presentation and how/why it fits the theme of this year’s symposium.

The UPD Citizens Police Academy is a seven-week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the University Police Department. It consists of a series of in-person classes, discussions and activities held once a week on Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and a student/employee of N.C. A&T State University. The application deadline is Feb. 7, at 5 p.m.

N.C. A&T has transitioned from EndNote to RefWorks. Students, faculty and staff will learn how to export your library's PDFs and/or citations from EndNote and import them into the new RefWorks citation management tool.
