Transition to Remote Learning - Nov. 29
Per the Fall 2021 Academic Calendar, residence halls will close Tuesday, Nov. 23. Beginning Monday, Nov. 29, until the end of the semester, all fall 2021 on-campus/main campus classes will be delivered using virtual mode. Examinations will be delivered online and according to the Fall 2021 Final Examination Schedule. The Teaching-Learning Continuity Implementation Team has created a checklist for students to use to prepare for this transition: Student Checklist for Remote Learning. Faculty should use the checklist as a guide to ensure students’ preparedness. Faculty should also continue their availability throughout the remainder of the semester (e.g., virtual meetings and tutoring, virtual office hours, etc.), inform students about the platform that will be used to conduct classes (e.g., Blackboard Collaborate, Zoom, etc.), and encourage them to test their connections during the Thanksgiving holiday break.

Tuition Assistance Transition

Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.

N.C. A&T Human Rights Medal - Call for Nominations

Nominations are open for Human Rights Medal. The award is presented to an individual who has had a positive impact on correcting social injustices and other humanitarian activities. The winner will be notified in December and will be invited to accept the award at the Annual Sit-In Breakfast marking the anniversary of the N.C. A&T Sit-In Movement. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Dec. 6, 2021. University Police Department Satisfaction Survey
In order to ensure that the N.C. A&T State University Police Department is providing the service our community wants and deserves, we ask you to evaluate us by completing a brief survey by Nov. 30. Your answers will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to provide feedback on our performance as an agency.

Flu Vaccine Available at Student Health Center
The Student Health Center is now offering the flu shot for this upcoming winter months! We have received our first shipment of 100 doses. Please come by or schedule an appointment with the Student Health Center during clinic and pharmacy business hours, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. The Student Health Center will be receiving more flu vaccines later in the month.
Please be advised that upon receiving the shot your insurance will be billed.

SHRA Mandatory Infromation Security Training
The university is required to provide information security awareness training each year. Traing for SHRA employees will begin Tuesday, Oct. 19. Topics will include information technology policies, fundamental security knowledge, common cyber security threats, social engineering red flags, WiFi security, social media sharing and phishing prevention. This training is mandatory for all SHRA employees. The training is self-paced and each module can be paused and resumed. After module is completed, employees will be able to downloada certificate of completion. The deadline to complete training is June 30, 2022. Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.

Retirement Celebration for Provost Beryl McEwen - Nov. 30
To celebrate nearly 30 years of service to North Carolina A&T, a floating retirement reception for Provost Beryl McEwen will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 2 – 5 p.m. in the Student Center - Deese Ballroom. 
The celebration will be held face-to-face and virtual via Zoom.

World AIDS Day Virtual Town Hall - Dec. 1

North Carolina A&T will host a virtual town hall, “Ending the HIV Epidemic: Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice,” in observance of World AIDS Day on Wednesday, Dec. 1, from noon to 1 p.m.
The free, public event will feature five panelists: Schenita Davis Randolph, Ph.D., associate professor at Duke University School of Nursing; Emmy Award-winning AIDS activist and best-selling author Marvelyn Brown; Alysse Wurcel, M.D., attending physician in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and assistant professor of medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine; Author and actor Julian J. Walker, known for his roles in the film “Blackbird,” Bounce TV’s “Saints & Sinners” and BET’s hit series “Being Mary Jane”; and, Sharon Parker, Ph.D., associate professor in the Joint Programs of Social Work at North Carolina A&T and the University of North Carolina-Greensboro
A question-and-answer session will follow brief presentations by each panelist.

HBCU Journalism Project Open Voting - Ends Dec. 1

BNC and BNC GO launched a unique program designed to give journalism students at HBCUs across the country an opportunity to engage directly with BNC journalists and media professionals. N.C. A&T's Sydney Ross is one of eight finalist to be considered for a paid internship with BNC during the summer 2022. Read the submitted articles and vote here

Free Workout for Faculty and Staff During Winter Break

Beginning Nov. 22 through Dec. 22, all A&T faculty and staff may use the fitness facility at no charge! You will be allotted a one hour a day timeslot so please sign-up using SignUp Genius

Winter Wishes in Aggieland - Dec. 3
North Carolina A&T State University is hosting Winter Wishes in Aggieland as a drive-thru event on Dec. 3. The university is sponsoring holiday gifts (wishes) for 200 children placed in the Guilford County foster care system. SignUpGenius will be used to distribute wishes. This tool will allow members of the university community to select one or more wishes to grant. Please sign up to grant a wish via SignUpGenius by Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Wishes should be dropped off on Dec. 3, between noon and 3 p.m., at the drive-thru Winter Wishes in Aggieland event. Participants will drive around the Deese Clock Tower to drop off their new and unwrapped wish(es) and pick up a thank you gift and treat. Thank you for participating in this event to support foster children in Guilford County.
Virtual Safe Zone Ally Development Trainings

A virtual Safe Zone Ally Development Training session will take place on Nov. 30 and Dec. 3 . Both training sessions will start at 10 a.m. via Zoom. Safe Zone Trainings emphasize on providing information that is relevant to promoting a healthy and safe campus community by creating allies. “Preparing for the Future by Broadening Our Horizons” – Jan. 28, 2022

The NC-LSAMP STEM Pathways and Research Alliance will hold its annual research conference on Jan. 28, 2022. This virtual conference will afford participants opportunities to engage in professional development and networking sessions, undergraduate research presentations and a graduate school recruitment fair.     Participation in the conference is open to undergraduate students majoring in a STEM discipline.
