Library Advisory Council
F.D. Bluford Library seeks new members to join the Advisory Council for Library Services. This group provides advice to the Dean of Library Services concerning library services needed to support teaching, learning and research. The Council meets once per semester. The Spring 2022 meeting will be held virtually in March. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to serve as committee members. Interested? Please contact Sarah Smith, srsmith1@ncat.edu, via email by Jan. 31, 2022 . Students should include their name, major, and classification (e.g., sophomore, junior). Faculty should include their name, email and department.
Tuition Assistance Transition
Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.
The university is required to provide information security awareness training each year. Training for SHRA employees began Oct. 19. Topics will include information technology policies, fundamental security knowledge, common cyber security threats, social engineering red flags, WiFi security, social media sharing and phishing prevention. This training is mandatory for all SHRA employees. The training is self-paced and each module can be paused and resumed. After module is completed, employees will be able to download a certificate of completion. The deadline to complete training is Thursday, June 30, 2022. Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.

Nominations/applications for Research Excellence Awards open Friday, Jan. 14. The deadline for applications for research awards is 5 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 18. Active researchers are encouraged to nominate themselves directly to the Division of Research and Economic Development. All applications must be submitted as a single PDF file via CompetitionSpace (ncat.infoready4.com). Jan. 18, at noon ET: Point Foundation Scholarship for those who will be enrolled full-time in fall 2022 in an undergraduate or graduate degree. Candidates should have: demonstrated leadership and community involvement, strong academic achievement, worked for the betterment of the LGBTQ community and are an out member of the LGBTQ community, and financial need.
Jan. 31: EPP/MSI and Hollings Undergraduate Scholarships. These are both fully funded two-year scholarships with paid summer internships for second-year Aggie undergraduates in eligible disciplines related to the mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Extended Campus will hold a virtual information session on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 6 p.m. Eastern for prospective students in N.C. A&T's online Engineering graduate programs: Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial and Systems Engineering. Prospective students can speak with program representatives and find out about the application process, our support services for online students, and financial aid. Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Annual Commemoration Celebration 2022 - Jan. 26The annual commemoration of the MLK Birthday celebration is in collaboration with Guilford College, Guilford Technical Community College, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This year’s program will be virtual. This year’s joint program theme: “I Come as One, But Stand As 10,000.” – by Maya Angelou
The program, Jan. 26, 6-7:30 p.m., will include a student-led panel discussion and entertainment from all representing campuses. North Carolina A&T's Student Greek Community will perform a “Unity Step” performance as entertainment in honor of Dr. King’s dream. The event is free, so please join us! The Zoom link is forthcoming.
The NC-LSAMP STEM Pathways and Research Alliance will hold its annual research conference on Jan. 28, 2022. This virtual conference will afford participants opportunities to engage in professional development and networking sessions, undergraduate research presentations and a graduate school recruitment fair.
