Fall 2021 Commencement Ceremony - Dec. 11

The Fall 2021 ceremony is Saturday, Dec. 11, at 8:30 a.m.  at the Greensboro Coliseum for Fall and Summer graduates only. No tickets will be required to attend. For the safety of all, masks must be worn correctly over the mouth and nose at all times while in the coliseum.

Tuition Assistance Transition

Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.

N.C. A&T Human Rights Medal - Call for Nominations

Nominations are open for Human Rights Medal. The award is presented to an individual who has had a positive impact on correcting social injustices and other humanitarian activities. The winner will be notified in December and will be invited to accept the award at the Annual Sit-In Breakfast marking the anniversary of the N.C. A&T Sit-In Movement. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022. The deadline for nominations is Monday, Dec. 6, 2021. SHRA Mandatory Infromation Security Training
The university is required to provide information security awareness training each year. Traing for SHRA employees will begin Tuesday, Oct. 19. Topics will include information technology policies, fundamental security knowledge, common cyber security threats, social engineering red flags, WiFi security, social media sharing and phishing prevention. This training is mandatory for all SHRA employees. The training is self-paced and each module can be paused and resumed. After module is completed, employees will be able to downloada certificate of completion. The deadline to complete training is June 30, 2022. Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.

Eligible students and alumni: indicate your Intent-to-Apply by clicking here as soon as possible. Then, contact Ms. Alsace Gallop in NCAT EO and get application instructions for EOs with required fall 2021 endorsement deadlines (always at 5 p.m. ET; click here to see all 15 endorsed EOs). The following extraordinary opportunities have a deadline of Dec. 14:

  • ETS Presidential Scholarship for HBCU Students: Second- and third-year undergrads (all majors) who have demonstrated financial need (usually Pell Grant eligibility), will be full-time undergraduates in 2022-23, and also demonstrate leadership and have a 3.5+ cumulative GPA.
  •   UNCF Achievement Capstone Scholarship: May 2022 graduates (all majors) who have demonstrated leadership and campus involvement in ways that honor the legacy of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
  •  White House Competitiveness Scholars Program for HBCU Students: Undergraduate and graduate students (all majors) who will be enrolled full-time in 2022-23; who are interested in leadership development and outreach; and who demonstrate academic achievement, civic and campus engagement, and an entrepreneurial ethos.
Staff Senate Fall Forum – Dec. 16

Save the date for the Staff Senate Fall Forum scheduled for Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 am. The event is open to all SHRA & EHRA Non-faculty Employees.
A drive through lunch and gift will be provided at Truist Stadium w/ OneID.

Early 2022 Extraordinary Opportunities

Jan. 18, 2022 at noon ET: Point Foundation Scholarship for those who will be enrolled full-time in fall 2022 in an undergraduate or graduate degree. Candidates should have: demonstrated leadership and community involvement, strong academic achievement, worked for the betterment of the LGBTQ community and are an out member of the LGBTQ community, and financial need. 
Jan. 31, 2022: EPP/MSI and Hollings Undergraduate Scholarships. These are both fully funded two-year scholarships with paid summer internships for second-year Aggie undergraduates in eligible disciplines related to the mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). 

“Preparing for the Future by Broadening Our Horizons” – Jan. 28, 2022

The NC-LSAMP STEM Pathways and Research Alliance will hold its annual research conference on Jan. 28, 2022. This virtual conference will afford participants opportunities to engage in professional development and networking sessions, undergraduate research presentations and a graduate school recruitment fair.     Participation in the conference is open to undergraduate students majoring in a STEM discipline.
