In preparation for the Spring Healthy Fun Fair, Lot 39 (Student Health Center) and Luther Street will be closed Thursday, April 7, 2022. Vehicles must vacate the lot by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6. Vehicles not removed by the designated time are subject to towing at the owner's expense. Alternative parking for General Permit holders includes: Lot 38 - Laurel Street Lot 42 - Obermeyer Parking Lot Lot A3 - Truist Stadium Lot 65 - War Memorial Stadium
The Year-End closeout process lasts from May 1, 2022 until July 1, 2022. The communication ensures the various areas are aware of their deadlines to meet the year-end closing goals.
Student Honors Convocation - April 13
The Student Honors Convocation will be held Wednesday, April 13, at 10 a.m., in the Richard B. Harrison Auditorium. The purpose of this ceremony is to acknowledge undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Several of our students will serve as our speakers, including senior mechanical engineering major, Imani Caldwell, as the keynote speaker and our 2021-22 Aggie Poet Laureate, Erykah Drone.
North Carolina A&T State University holds all its students in high esteem and takes pride in their accomplishments. Therefore, all faculty and senior administrators are expected to attend and are required to wear academic regalia to participate in the procession. Classes are suspended from 10 a.m. until noon, to allow all students (regardless of their GPA) and the university community to attend.
Campus Pool Now Open
The university's pool, located in Corbett Sports Center, is now open.
Recreational Swim is Monday – Friday, noon to 8 p.m.
Testing is easy and free for students and employees, available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Alumni Foundation Event Center, next door to the Student Health Center. Vaccination and booster shots are also free and available at the Alumni Foundation Event Center and the Student Health Center Pharmacy.
Flu Vaccine Available
The Student Health Center is now offering the flu shot for this upcoming winter months! Please come by the Student Health Center during our current business hours.

Summer/Fall 2022 Course Advisement and Registration - begins March 14 Advisement for summer/fall 2022 begins on March 14. Students should contact their faculty advisor to schedule an appointment to discuss courses they should take based on your curriculum guide. Alternate pins are to be obtained from faculty advisor and/or department chairperson.
Registration begins on April 4 until April 25. Students can begin registering for classes based on their earned hours.
Monday, April 4 – Graduate Students and Seniors (90 or more earned credit hours)
Tuesday, April 5 – Juniors (60 – 89 earned credit hours)
Wednesday, April 6 – Sophomores (30 – 59 earned credit hours)
Thursday, April 7 – Freshmen (less than 30 earned credit hours)

Vote for Text-in-Community Book for 2022-2023
The Text-in-Community Committee invites you to vote for one the following seven books that were nominated for the 2022-2023 year. Each book meets Text-in-Community's goals of addressing national or international issues that (1) take an interdisciplinary approach to problems or challenges, (2) are part of conversations taking place at the national level, (3) would broaden and deepen interactions between students, faculty, staff, and greater Greensboro community members, and (4) provide opportunities for creative programming during the academic year. The last day to withdraw from the University for spring 2022 without a grade evaluation is April 7. A University Withdrawal Form must be completed. The form is available from registration@ncat.edu.
Call for Citizen Science Faculty Fellows - deadline April 15The National Science Foundation funded project “Collaborative Research: Building Capacity to Improve STEM Education through Citizen Science by Scaling Up University-Community Partnerships” is seeking applications for four Citizen Science Faculty Fellow positions for Summer 2022. Candidates for these positions are faculty who possess an interest in experiential learning approaches and scientific literacy. Full-time faculty (Tenure-track and Non-tenure track) from any department are eligible. Fellows will work with the project team to develop citizen science course learning modules that they will then use in their classes in the Fall 2022 semester. The length of engagement runs from June 1 - July 22 (with the week of July 4 off). Faculty Fellows will receive a $2,500 stipend and $800 toward travel to present at a citizen science, SoTL, or other conference. Fellows will be expected to spend 3-4 hours a week on support activities (one hour weekly virtual meeting and 2 hours of flexible remote work). Faculty can submit applications here. NSF International Research Experience in Botswanan – Deadline April 15
Selected IRES students will work alongside research mentors from N.C. A&T, Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) and Appalachian State University to conduct research in: Geophysics and seismology, atmospheric Physics/Chemistry and air quality using field measurements.

The University Event Center would like to inform you that in the continued effort to provide a superior customer experience, multiple forms used in the process of reserving spaces on campus have been modernized and are now available electronically. Accessible from our main University Event Center page on the NCAT website, the Cancellation/Change Form, Online Username & Password Request Form, Student Center Reservation Request Form, Digital Display Board Request Form can all completed and submitted directly to our staff for processing. As you will see there are two options for our, one set that is accessible utilizing you university issued One-ID and one for individuals without a University issued One-ID.
Please note that reservations all forms will be processed within 2-3 business days, this will allow our office to execute the process most efficient way possible. Forms will be processed in the order they are received and event locations are available on a first come, first serve bases.

The university will return to in-person summer camp programs. As part of its risk management efforts, the university centralized the registration process for summer camps/sponsored programs. Faculty, staff, program directors, and other personnel organizing, leading, and managing these efforts must register all summer camps/sponsored programs through the Extended Campus via this link.
The Extended Campus supports the procedures for compliance with the Minors on Campus policy, which promotes the safety and well-being of minors entrusted to the University's care. All directors, camp personnel, and volunteers working with the camps will complete the mandatory online Protection of Minors Training. University Space Planning Committee Survey
The University Space Planning Committee welcomes your feedback regarding a potential addition to our campus. As N.C. A&T continues to improve our spaces on campus, we are committed to providing spaces that accommodate a diverse set of needs. In this regard, we are exploring lactation rooms to be used by students, faculty and staff with infants. A lactation space is a private, hygienic space for nursing mothers and infants. Clinical Study Volunteers Needed
The Center of Excellence in Post Harvest Technologies located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis is looking for volunteers to participate in a clinical study. We are investigating how food plays an important part in our health and how the food is broken down after being eaten. You may qualify if your BMI is between 18-25 or 30-40, you are 18-65 years of age, and you are of African American decent. Participation involves completing a 5-day food diary and providing one stool sample collection. Do you have high blood pressure and you are taking three or more blood
pressure medications? You may be eligible for an 8-week study on stress
management.
You may qualify if you identify as African American/Black; are being treated with three or more blood pressure medications; and/or are between 18 and 90+ years old.
Participation involves attending a stress management class for 1.5 hours a week for 8-weeks and a 4-hour silent retreat; keeping a weekly log of blood pressure; and completing a 1-hour group interview about the stress management program
at the end of the 8-weeks.

Tuition Assistance Transition
Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.
The university is required to provide information security awareness training each year. Training for SHRA employees began Oct. 19. Topics will include information technology policies, fundamental security knowledge, common cyber security threats, social engineering red flags, WiFi security, social media sharing and phishing prevention. This training is mandatory for all SHRA employees. The training is self-paced and each module can be paused and resumed. After module is completed, employees will be able to download a certificate of completion. The deadline to complete training is Thursday, June 30, 2022. Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.
Aggie Talk Podcast
Aggie Talk is a resource for students and staff at North Carolina A&T State University. Aggie Talk does not take the place of clinical mental health treatment. This podcast is a resource. It is our hope that Aggie Talk introduces new concepts, inspires listeners to pursue professional help if necessary, and to be a catalyst for conversation surrounding mental health. Host Jovan Shumpert, MS, LCMHCA will discuss current events, mental health facts and experiences, and will be joined by colleagues to discuss their areas of expertise. Poetry Therapy Session with Ms. Wanda Kellyman – April 4
Director of Accessibility Resources Wanda Kellyman will host a poetry therapy session Monday, April 4 at 3 p.m. in the Seminar Room of Bluford Library. This event marks the beginning of National Poetry Month and kicks off National Library Week by learning how to use language, symbols and stories to facilitate healing and personal growth.
Digital/E-Portfolios Workshop - April 5
This workshop on April 5, at 11 a.m. will provide an overview of the different types e-portfolios in higher education, and will discuss the applicability of e-portfolio use in a classroom setting, whether face2face or virtual. E-portfolios are used in many academic settings, and creating an e-portfolio is particularly useful for students in a variety of ways. E-Portfolios can be a personal tool for storing, organizing, reflecting on and sharing items or artifacts that represent your learning. Students can include items such as documents, graphics, audio files, videos, presentations and course work to demonstrate skills in certain areas. The Wix platform will be highlighted during this workshop series and supplemental digital tools will be used and discussed as well. Register for this online workshop.

N.C. A&T has transitioned from EndNote to RefWorks. Students, faculty, and staff will learn how to export your library's PDFs and/or citations from EndNote and import them into the new RefWorks citation management tool. Date Night in Aggieland - April 9
The Office of Vice Provost for Engagement and Outreach and the Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEEI) are hosting a Family Engagement event for East Greensboro and Triad area families. The event, “Date Night in Aggieland” will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., in the Student Center Deese Ballroom. Families throughout our community are invited to Aggieland for an evening of enjoyment inclusive of food, music and games. This event is also an opportunity to share information about all that N.C. A&T has to offer, as well, showcase our colleges/departments/units and student organizations. The event will act a springboard for increased engagement with communities, families and K-12 youth. With ProQuest’s RefWorks citation management software, students, faculty, staff, and other members of the N.C. A&T community will learn how this cloud-based application can reduce the time and effort needed to produce a reference list and/or place proper in-text citations in a paper for a class assignment, Master's Thesis, Ph.D. dissertation, journal article, and/or grant proposal. Specific skills include importing and saving citations from databases, attaching PDFs to these citations, inserting citations directly into word processing software (Microsoft Word or Google Docs) using one of over 6,000 citation styles, exporting from RefWorks to create a "Quick Bibliography," and organizing references. Users do NOT need to download or install any software, although there are plugins available for the RefWorks Citation Manager functions in Word and Google Docs. Looking to publish in the top journals but do not know where to start? Join Bluford Library to learn how you can track, analyze, and visualize the impact of your research. We will explore research impact tools that are easy to use, and which provide a variety of options for analyzing your research engagement. These tools also provide opportunities to network with other researchers in your field and identify potential collaborators.
