Revised Policy Posted

The following revised policy has been approved and is posted on the Legal Affairs Draft Policies website. Managers and employees across the University are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with all policies posted on the Legal Affairs website. Anyone who wishes to provide comments on this policy should send their comments to sjcobrand@ncat.edu no later than Aug. 18 for full consideration.

Faculty & Staff Headshots

University Relations has scheduled Monday, Aug. 16, and Monday, Aug. 23, to allow faculty and staff who do not have a recent N.C. A&T headshot to be photographed. An appointment is required. Please use one of the following links to schedule your appointment:

A&T work attire is required for these photos, so please dress accordingly:

  • Managers and office workers should wear business professional attire. Business casual is an option for those who do not work in an office setting.
  • A&T uniforms may be worn by those who are required to wear them.
  • T-shirts and sweatshirts—regardless of the fabric—will not be photographed.
  • Clothing branded with non-A&T marks will not be photographed.

Change to Research Proposal "Rush Request" Process
Beginning on Aug. 18, rush requests for research proposals will be managed by each individual college dean’s office. Each dean is allotted a small number of rush requests to be used for strategic priorities. Starting Aug. 18, faculty wishing to make a rush request on a proposal submission will need to contact their dean's office and not the Office of Sponsored Programs. N.C. A&T and NCCU Crush COVID Competition
We’re Crushing COVID through a campus competition with NCCU. The Aggie-Eagle Crush COVID Competition, held July 1 to Sept. 17, encourages faculty, staff and students to do their part by getting a COVID-19 vaccine to ensure the campuses are ready for a healthy fall 2021 semester. The campus with the most members vaccinated will be rewarded with a trophy and ultimate bragging rights at the Sept. 25 Aggie-Eagle football game at Truist Stadium on the N.C. A&T campus. Please note all the issues have been corrected and the portal is operational for ALL faculty, staff and students. All you have to do is upload your vaccination card to the university medical records Medicat portal or schedule a vaccination appointment on campus, or at your local clinic. Make sure to get your information in and be eligible for weekly and grand prizes. All details and upload options are available via www.ncat.edu/crushcovid.

 

New Faculty Forum - Aug. 10 & 11
The Center for Teaching Excellence is sponsoring a 2-day forum for all new faculty on Aug. 10 – 11 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. This forum provides workshops and presentations on a variety of topics designed to welcome new faculty to NC A&T and prepare them for success in teaching, research and service. Register at this link.   

Faculty & Staff Virtual Professional Development Day- Aug. 12
Last chance to register for Faculty & Staff Professional Development Day 2021. This year’s unique offerings include: leadership online gaming, genius breaks, artistic wellbeing exercises, and many great prizes to be won. Some sessions have limited attendance so join early. Faculty and Staff Institute - Aug. 13
The North Carolina A&T Faculty and Staff Institute (FSI) is scheduled for Friday, August 13, at 9 a.m., in person in the Corbett Sports Center. The theme for this year’s FSI - is “Stay FOCUSed…Fixed Ongoing Commitment: Unlimited Success.” The FSI will include a trivia contest on Twitter featuring great prizes, followed by departmental and college meetings scheduled by deans.

The Center for Leadership and Organizational Excellence (CLOE) has workshops in August for all faculty and staff. This month’s programs include: Title IX Updates, Best Practices in Leading Distributed Teams, Enabling Change for Teams & Individuals, Returning to Campus: Dealing Successfully with Anxiety, Fears & Resistance. Register for programs here
University Galleries to Host "Finding the Promised Land" Exhibition - Now- Sept. 24
The University Galleries at N.C. A&T is hosting a new art exhibition, “Finding the Promised Land: Landscape Works by Black Artists from the Permanent Collection.” The exhibit runs through Sept. 24.
 

F. D. Bluford Library Tours & Trivia - Aug. 16-17
All new and returning Aggies are cordially invited Aug. 16-17 to tour their university library and learn how we support your academic success!  Following your guided tour, you are invited to enjoy light refreshments, and participate in trivia games to test your newfound knowledge of Bluford Library and win some cool prizes! Counseling Services Support

If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis or having thoughts of suicide, please contact Counseling Services. Counseling Services provides trainings on suicide prevention. If you ever have a concern about improper conduct, fraud, waste or abuse, please do not keep it to yourself. You may report these concerns or any violation of policies, procedures, regulations, state and federal laws to your immediate supervisor or department head, if appropriate.

There are also two methods for reporting concerns or violations anonymously and in confidence via the University Hotline. You may call the University Hotline toll free at 877-507-7313 or make a report online. Both reporting methods are confidential and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
