A&T will welcome business mogul and NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson to the Chancellor’s Speaker Series, “Building Black Businesses,” Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m. Johnson will deliver a tailored keynote address to an audience of students and community members in Harrison Auditorium, located on the university’s campus. “Building Black Businesses” is an opportunity for participants to gain foundational principles and glean from Johnson’s lived experiences as a leading businessman. The speaker series event is open to the public.
Lot Closure: Chancellor's Speaker SeriesIn preparation for the Chancellor Roundtable and Speaker Series, Lot 17 (Alumni Foundation Event Center) and Lot 14 (Harrison Auditorium) will be closed Tuesday, March 29. Vehicles must vacate the lot by 9 p.m. on Monday, March 28. Vehicles not removed by the designated time are subject to towing at the owner's expense. Alternative parking for General Permit holders includes: Lot 38 - Laurel Street Lot 39 – Student Health Center Lot 42 - Obermeyer Parking Lot Lot A3 - Truist Stadium Lot 65 - War Memorial Stadium Thank you for your cooperation and support.
UNC Strategic Plan Virtual Town Hall - March 30When registering for classes, all students are required to OPT IN or OPT OUT of AggieAlert!, the university’s emergency notification system that sends text messages to your phone in the event of emergencies, life-threatening situations and/or inclement weather. Failure to opt-in or opt-out prior to class registration will result in a hold being placed on student accounts. To prevent an account hold, log into Aggie Access / Aggie Alert and follow the instructions. The registration period for fall and summer 2022 classes is April 4–25.
The university's pool, located in Corbett Sports Center, is now open.
Recreational Swim is Monday – Friday, noon to 8 p.m.
Testing is easy and free for students and employees, available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Alumni Foundation Event Center, next door to the Student Health Center. Vaccination and booster shots are also free and available at the Alumni Foundation Event Center and the Student Health Center Pharmacy.
The Student Health Center is now offering the flu shot for this upcoming winter months! Please come by the Student Health Center during our current business hours.

Advisement for summer/fall 2022 begins on March 14. Students should contact their faculty advisor to schedule an appointment to discuss courses they should take based on your curriculum guide. Alternate pins are to be obtained from faculty advisor and/or department chairperson.
Registration begins on April 4 until April 25. Students can begin registering for classes based on their earned hours.
Monday, April 4 – Graduate Students and Seniors (90 or more earned credit hours)
Tuesday, April 5 – Juniors (60 – 89 earned credit hours)
Wednesday, April 6 – Sophomores (30 – 59 earned credit hours)
Thursday, April 7 – Freshmen (less than 30 earned credit hours)

The last day to withdraw from a course for spring 2022 without a grade evaluation is March 28, at 5 p.m. The course withdrawal is available through the Student Hub. Once the form is completed, please follow up with your advisor regarding the course withdrawal. Approved courses withdrawals submitted after the deadline will NOT be accepted. Advisors must send your forms by March 28. Students CANNOT use this option to withdraw from ALL of their classes for the semester. To withdraw from all classes, students must use the official University Withdrawal form, available from registration@ncat.edu. The last day to withdraw from the university without a grade evaluation is April 7, 2022.

Vote for Text-in-Community Book for 2022-2023The Text-in-Community Committee invites you to vote for one the following seven books that were nominated for the 2022-2023 year. Each book meets Text-in-Community's goals of addressing national or international issues that (1) take an interdisciplinary approach to problems or challenges, (2) are part of conversations taking place at the national level, (3) would broaden and deepen interactions between students, faculty, staff, and greater Greensboro community members, and (4) provide opportunities for creative programming during the academic year. In this regard, we are exploring lactation rooms to be used by students, faculty and staff with infants. A lactation space is a private, hygienic space for nursing mothers and infants. The Office of International Affairs will host weekly study abroad information sessions to give students pertinent information on what's needed to study abroad. The following are the dates and times of the spring 2022 information sessions. All information sessions are virtual, and students can find the information on the International Affairs website, and scan the QR Code on the website to sign-up for a session. N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.
Do you have high blood pressure and you are taking three or more blood
pressure medications? You may be eligible for an 8-week study on stress
management.
You may qualify if you identify as African American/Black; are being treated with three or more blood pressure medications; and/or are between 18 and 90+ years old.
Participation involves attending a stress management class for 1.5 hours a week for 8-weeks and a 4-hour silent retreat; keeping a weekly log of blood pressure; and completing a 1-hour group interview about the stress management program
at the end of the 8-weeks.

Apply for your undergraduate research (UR) cord by March 28.
Eligibility for requesting the UR graduation cord:
- Must be a graduating senior;
- Must have participated in a faculty-mentored research experience or an original scholarly or creative activity at any time in the undergraduate academic career;
- Must have documented outcomes (a poster, journal article, proof of a creative performance) from the research experience, scholarly activity or creative activity; and
- Must have presented outcomes at a professional conference, or at an Office of Undergraduate Research Symposium, or published in an academic journal.

Barbershop Talk: Building Systems to Support Men of Color. Barbershops have traditionally been a safe space for men to fellowship. Clinical Study Volunteers Needed
The Center of Excellence in Post Harvest Technologies located at the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis is looking for volunteers to participate in a clinical study. We are investigating how food plays an important part in our health and how the food is broken down after being eaten. You may qualify if your BMI is between 18-25 or 30-40, you are 18-65 years of age, and you are of African American decent. Participation involves completing a 5-day food diary and providing one stool sample collection. Dr. Soonok An and Dr. Chiquita Welch-Brewer in the social work program are inviting A&T undergraduate students to completing a 15-minute online survey that explores undergraduate college students’ attitudes regarding and experiences with healthy relationships and intimate partner/dating violence. To be eligible, you must be:

Aggie Talk Podcast
Aggie Talk is a resource for students and staff at North Carolina A&T State University. Aggie Talk does not take the place of clinical mental health treatment. This podcast is a resource. It is our hope that Aggie Talk introduces new concepts, inspires listeners to pursue professional help if necessary, and to be a catalyst for conversation surrounding mental health. Host Jovan Shumpert, MS, LCMHCA will discuss current events, mental health facts and experiences, and will be joined by colleagues to discuss their areas of expertise. The podcast is available on Spotify and Anchor!
This workshop on April 5, at 11 a.m. will provide an overview of the different types e-portfolios in higher education, and will discuss the applicability of e-portfolio use in a classroom setting, whether face2face or virtual. E-portfolios are used in many academic settings, and creating an e-portfolio is particularly useful for students in a variety of ways. E-Portfolios can be a personal tool for storing, organizing, reflecting on and sharing items or artifacts that represent your learning. Students can include items such as documents, graphics, audio files, videos, presentations and course work to demonstrate skills in certain areas. The Wix platform will be highlighted during this workshop series and supplemental digital tools will be used and discussed as well. Register for this online workshop.
Citation Management Transitioning from EndNote to RefWorks- April 7N.C. A&T has transitioned from EndNote to RefWorks. Students, faculty, and staff will learn how to export your library's PDFs and/or citations from EndNote and import them into the new RefWorks citation management tool. Users will need to create an account in RefWorks. Register for this online workshop.
Date Night in Aggieland - April 9
The Office of Vice Provost for Engagement and Outreach and the Center of Excellence for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEEI) are hosting a Family Engagement event for East Greensboro and Triad area families. The event, “Date Night in Aggieland” will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., in the Student Center Deese Ballroom. Families throughout our community are invited to Aggieland for an evening of enjoyment inclusive of food, music, and games. This event is also an opportunity to share information about all that N.C. A&T has to offer, as well, showcase our colleges/departments/units and student organizations. The event will act a springboard for increased engagement with communities, families, and K-12 youth. Research Impact: Assessing and Tracking Your Research- April 28Do you want to know what kind of impact your published research is making in your discipline? Do you want to plan your research trajectory? Looking to publish in the top journals but do not know where to start? Join Bluford Library to learn how you can track, analyze, and visualize the impact of your research. We will explore research impact tools that are easy to use, and which provide a variety of options for analyzing your research engagement. These tools also provide opportunities to network with other researchers in your field and identify potential collaborators.
