COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination/Boosters Available

Testing is easy and free for students and employees, available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Alumni Foundation Event Center, next door to the Student Health Center. Vaccination and booster shots are also free and available at the Alumni Foundation Event Center and the Student Health Center Pharmacy. 

Flu Vaccine Available

The Student Health Center is now offering the flu shot for this upcoming winter months! Please come by the Student Health Center during our current business hours.
Pharmacy Hours- Mon- Fri: 8 a.m.- 5p.m.
Clinic Hours- Mon- Fri: 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Please be advised that upon receiving the shot your insurance will be billed.

Library Advisory Council
F.D. Bluford Library seeks new members to join the Advisory Council for Library Services. This group provides advice to the Dean of Library Services concerning library services needed to support teaching, learning and research. The Council meets once per semester. The Spring 2022 meeting will be held virtually in March. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to serve as committee members.Interested? Please contact Sarah Smith, srsmith1@ncat.edu, via email by Jan. 31, 2022 . Students should include their name, major, and classification (e.g., sophomore, junior). Faculty should include their name, email and department.

Tuition Assistance Transition
Office of Veteran & Military Affairs is now responsible, and will process Army DOD and the Tuition Assistance program. All students utilizing this program please contact our office at (336) 398-8651.

Learn STEM Skills and Credentials with Digital Badge Program
N.C. A&T is starting a digital badge program, funded by the National Science Foundation, to enable undergraduate students to increase their STEM skills through mentorship programs, experiential learning activities, research opportunities, scholarships, and more. The ASETTS program will connect students to researchers, professionals, and alumni from STEM‐related fields currently working in transportation careers and give students extra credentials to increase their marketability and secure employment after graduation.

January Deadlines for Extraordinary Opportunities
Jan. 26 (new deadline) at 12PM ET: Point Foundation Scholarship
For those who will be enrolled full-time in fall 2022 in an undergraduate or graduate degree. Candidates should have: demonstrated leadership and community involvement, strong academic achievement, worked for the betterment of the LGBTQ community and are an "out" member of the LGBTQ community, and financial need.
Jan. 31: EPP/MSI and Hollings Undergraduate Scholarships 

These are both fully funded two-year scholarships with paid summer internships for second-year Aggie undergraduates in eligible disciplines related to the mission of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Annual Commemoration Celebration 2022 - Jan. 26

The annual commemoration of the MLK Birthday celebration is in collaboration with Guilford College, Guilford Technical Community College, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. This year’s program will be virtual. This year’s joint program theme: “I Come as One, But Stand As 10,000.” – by Maya Angelou
The program, Jan. 26, 6-7:30 p.m., will include a student-led panel discussion and entertainment from all representing campuses. North Carolina A&T's Student Greek Community will perform a “Unity Step” performance as entertainment in honor of Dr. King’s dream. The event is free, so please join us!  Click here to view.

Counseling Services Open House - Jan 27

Counseling Services will be hosting an open house on Thursday Jan. 27, 1-3 p.m. in Murphy Hall Lobby. Please stop by to grab your swag bag and meet counselors! The event is floating. Masks and social distancing are required. Contact 336-334-7727 if you have questions about accessibility.

2022 Ronald McNair Celebration - Jan. 28

The 2022 Dr. Ronald E. McNair Commemorative Celebration will broadcast live on Jan. 28, at noon EST. The theme of the celebration this year is “Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Ronald E. McNair: Breaking Barriers: A Celebration of STEM Success”

“Preparing for the Future by Broadening Our Horizons” – Jan. 28
The NC-LSAMP STEM Pathways and Research Alliance will hold its annual research conference on Jan. 28, 2022. This virtual conference will afford participants opportunities to engage in professional development and networking sessions, undergraduate research presentations and a graduate school recruitment fair.Participation in the conference is open to undergraduate students majoring in a STEM discipline. Volunteers Needed to Participate in the Helping Undergraduates Grow in Relationships Online Survey Research Study

 Dr. Soonok An and Dr. Chiquita Welch-Brewer in the social work program are inviting A&T undergraduate students to completing a 15-minute online survey that explores undergraduate college students’ attitudes regarding and experiences with healthy relationships and intimate partner/dating violence. To be eligible, you must be:    • 18 years or older    • An undergraduate student enrolled at NCAT    • Have had a romantic relationship in your lifetime    • Not experiencing acute emotional distress related to dating    violence.    • The topic of dating violence does not cause distress or an    adverse emotional response.    Participants can enter a raffle to win:    • A twenty $20 gift card

N.C. A&T will host the annual Feb One Sit-In Anniversary Celebration, Tuesday, Feb. 1, beginning at 8 a.m. The event will be livestreamed via the North Carolina A&T Facebook page. The guest speaker will be NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Anita Earls. View live here.

Winter 2022 Extraordinary Opportunities
Feb. 1: Amgen Scholars Program

Eligible returning undergraduate students with a 3.2+ GPA and an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. or M.D.-Ph.D. in the sciences are encouraged to apply. This fully funded program can help you conduct hands-on research in the labs all across the U.S. and in Asia alongside top faculty, participate in seminars and networking events, and take part in symposia with their peers and leading scientists.

Feb. 11: Marshall-Motley Scholars Program
This program from the NAACP Legal Defense Fund is for those who want fight racial injustice in the South as a civil rights attorney; it includes a full-ride to the accredited law school of your choice, paid internships, and professional development.
Feb. 15: Rangel Summer Enrichment Program (SEP)
This fully funded summer experience with Howard U. is open to sophomores (by credit) through graduating seniors who are interested in international affairs careers. Be sure to reach out early to Ms. Gallop, who has recruited A&T's three most recent Rangel SEP Scholars.

UPD 2022 Citizens Police Academy Application Open- ends Feb. 7

The UPD Citizens Police Academy is a seven-week program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the University Police Department. It consists of a series of in-person classes, discussions and activities held once a week on Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and a student/employee of N.C. A&T State University. The application deadline is Feb. 7, at 5 p.m.

UPD Spring 2022 Internship Applications Open - deadline Feb. 7

The University Police Department is currently accepting applications for its 2022 Spring Internship.The application deadline is Feb. 7, at 5 p.m.
This is an amazing opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at 21st century policing here at N.C, A&T. This is an 80-hour non-paid Internship.

Citation Management Transitioning from EndNote to RefWorks - Feb. 8

N.C. A&T has transitioned from EndNote to RefWorks. Students, faculty and staff will learn how to export your library's PDFs and/or citations from EndNote and import them into the new RefWorks citation management tool. Users will need to create an account in RefWorks. Register for this virtual workshop here.

Virtual Safe Zone Refresher Training – Feb. 18
The Office of Intercultural Engagement and the Office of Counseling Services will host a virtual Safe Zone Ally Development Refresher Training from 10 – 11 a.m. Safe Zone Ally Development Refresher Trainings are open to faculty/staff and students that have previously completed a Safe Zone Training session. Safe Zone Ally Development Trainings emphasize on providing information that is relevant to promoting a healthy and safe campus community by creating allies.
