Know Before You Park

As you prepare for the fall semester, remember that your license plate serves as your virtual parking permit through License Plate Recognition (LPR) when parking in Main Campus surface lots.

To avoid citations, always park with your license plate visible from the driving lane. If you prefer to back into parking spaces and do not have a front license plate, you can purchase a custom NCAT front-facing plate (fax plate) for $12 through the parking portal.

Parking deck permit holders will continue to use a physical hangtag permit, which must be displayed from the rearview mirror while parked in the deck.

As we prepare to begin a new academic year, we are excited to welcome our faculty and staff back to campus and to the important work that lies ahead. Join us for our annual Faculty/Staff Institute (FSI) on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Harrison Auditorium. This is an opportunity to reconnect, refocus and reaffirm our shared commitment to student success and institutional excellence.

This year’s theme, “First-Day Readiness: Aligning People, Purpose, and Performance for Student Success,” reflects our collective responsibility to ensure that every student is supported from their first day through graduation.

During the program, we will welcome new members of the Aggie community, celebrate our shared accomplishments, and hear updates on the university’s priorities for the year ahead.

As is customary, the afternoon will be devoted to college and department-level meetings and other preparations for the semester. These sessions will be coordinated by the respective college deans and unit leaders, who will share additional details with their teams.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our students, your commitment to excellence, and your contributions to the Aggie Experience. Together, we have built remarkable momentum, and we look forward to continuing that progress as we advance our mission and create transformative opportunities for those we serve.

Welcome Week is the official kick-off to the academic year at N.C. A&T, featuring events to help prepare you for an amazing year. Starting with a cookout on Saturday night and including learning, networking, social and academic activities, there is something for everyone! Welcome Week aims to create a meaningful experience to help you:

   • Adjust to the learning environment
   • Create and maintain meaningful relationships with fellow students

Extended Campus Introduces New Conference
Services Request Process

North Carolina A&T State University’s Extended Campus: Continuing Education has implemented a new Conference Services Request Process to support university departments hosting conferences, workshops and special events. Faculty and staff can now select from Registration-Only Services, Full Conference Administrative Support or Custom Support Packages tailored to their event needs. Departments should submit registration-only requests at least 90 days before an event and full conference administrative support requests at least 120 days in advance to allow adequate time for planning and staffing. Faculty and staff are encouraged to visit the Conference Services Request page to review available services, pricing and timelines and submit the online request form.

Fulbright 2027-28 Application Now Open

Aug. 15 ǀ Internal Campus Deadline for Submission of Materials 
Oct. 6 ǀ National Deadline

The Fulbright 2027–2028 application is now open, providing N.C. A&T students, faculty and professionals with opportunities to pursue international research, teaching and professional development experiences.

Interested applicants are encouraged to begin preparing their applications and submit materials by the internal campus deadline of Aug. 15, 2026, for campus review and consideration. The Office of Honors Research will support applicants throughout the process by providing guidance on identifying opportunities, strengthening application materials, and navigating the submission process.

Transdisciplinary Experiential Learning (TEL) in Food Animal Production Workshop

Students from all disciplines are invited to participate in the TEL Summer Workshop, an immersive, hands-on food animal production workshop. The TEL Summer Workshop gives undergraduate students, particularly those from 1890 Institutions, an immersive introduction to transdisciplinary problem-solving in food animal production. Students will explore how engineering, animal science, climate resilience, data science, and precision livestock farming (PLF) intersect in the design and management of sustainable, welfare-centered swine systems. Part of the Proactive Pig Production (P3) project, the program will provide participants with tools and experiences that foster collaboration, innovation, and real-world impact in animal agriculture.

North Carolina A&T State University’s Extended Campus invites students, working professionals and community members to upskill, re-skill and prepare for new career opportunities through flexible online courses offered in partnership with ed2go.

Learners can explore career-focused training in high-demand areas, including CompTIA A+, Cybersecurity Bootcamp, Human Resources Professional, and The Complete Project Manager with CAPM and PMP Prep. Courses are offered online, providing a convenient option for individuals looking to gain new skills or advance professionally while balancing work and other responsibilities. The graduation application for Summer and Fall 2026 is now open. You can find the application in Aggie Access and complete the online form. The application fee is $60, non-refundable, so please meet with your advisor before you apply.

The Career Champions program is a three‑part training series designed to equip faculty and staff with tools to better support students’ career readiness. We currently have 63 certified Career Champions and are aiming to reach 100 by the end of the semester. To support this goal, additional virtual sessions are now available, and each session lasts one hour. While the three parts do not need to be taken consecutively, all must be completed to earn certification. Interested participants can register using the enrollment form.

The Living Archives Project: Your Memories, Our History

F.D. Bluford Library’s Living Archives Project is an initiative to preserve the vibrant experiences and shared memories of N.C. A&T. students. Through the collection of student-contributed photographs, the Library aims to document the spirit, creativity, and everyday life of the Aggie community. This living archive ensures that the stories, traditions, and moments that define each generation are captured and preserved as part of the University’s history.

Coming Fall 2026 – Canvas by Instructure

North Carolina A&T State University will transition to a new learning management system (LMS), Canvas, for the Fall 2026 semester as a replacement for Blackboard. Canvas is widely adopted, integrates with many tools, and supports modern pedagogical features, offering a flexible and user-friendly environment for teaching and learning.

Digital Navigator Program – Ongoing
