A&T employees can dispose of university documents, personal documents and personal electronics; however, disposal of A&T electronics is prohibited.
The event promotes Cybersecurity Awareness Month . Disposal of the items collected will be handled by Proshred and Powerhouse Recycling. Waste Management Institute’s Earth & Environmental Science Club students have volunteered to assist patrons.
The event may end early if the shred truck and electronic recycling truck reach capacity.

Students! Register Your OneID for Multi-Factor Authentication and Change Your Password by Oct. 21!
Students must register their OneID and change their OneID password using the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) portal by Oct. 21.
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be required for all students to access key platforms, including Banner Self Service, Blackboard, and Google Suite, starting Oct. 22, 2025. Using MFA will enhance the security of university systems and protect your personal information.
What You Need to Do:
- Register for MFA using your OneID credentials.
- Ensure your MFA setup is complete before the deadline to avoid disruptions in access.
Instructions to Register your OneID (Video):
- Register your OneID at SSPR Portal. Sign in with your OneID credentials (the same credentials you use to access Blackboard, Google Suite, etc.).
- Select Security Info in the left menu and choose at least two authentication methods.
- Select the Microsoft Authenticator app as your primary method, as it offers the best security for your account.
- Register a second method (e.g., SMS messaging, phone call, or an alternative email address) to ensure you can reset your account if needed without support from the IT Service Desk.
- Select Change password from the left menu. Enter your current password and then enter and confirm a new password. Your new password should be at least 16 characters long and include uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

Coming Fall 2026 – Canvas by Instructure
North Carolina A&T State University will be transitioning to a new learning management system (LMS), Canvas, beginning with the Fall 2026 semester as a replacement for Blackboard. This shift aligns with a recent decision by the UNC Board of Governors to standardize on a single LMS across all UNC institutions. Canvas is widely adopted, integrates with many tools, and supports modern pedagogical features, offering a flexible and user-friendly environment for teaching and learning.
The implementation team is actively developing the full transition plan, which will include:
- A detailed timeline showing phases of migration, testing, and cutover
- Course migration strategies and guidelines
- Faculty, staff, and student training sessions
- Course development assistance, including instructional design consultations
We understand that transitioning to a new system is a significant effort, and we commit to making this as smooth and supported as possible. As our planning progresses, we’ll share regular updates to keep you informed and help you prepare for the transition. In the meantime, we invite you to share any concerns or questions you may have—or let us know if you’re interested in volunteering as a Canvas Champion or Ambassador. Click here to submit your response.
Thank you for your engagement and patience as we embark on this exciting new chapter.
