Famous Transgender Figures Exhibit

Transgender Awareness Week.These Transgender figures extend from the 1700s to the present day, recognizing their contributions to the LGBTQ+ community in politics, entertainment, sports, television, healthcare, and more. 

Free and open to the public.

Three Minute Thesis (3MT) at N.C. A&T

Graduate students will present their research in just three minutes using a single PowerPoint slide at the Fall 2025 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition at N.C.A&T. with the chance to win up to $500.

Judges for the preliminary round on Nov. 5 will select up to 10 finalists to compete in the finals set for Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 3–4:30 p.m. at the Joint School for Nanoscience and Nanoengineering auditorium. The finals will include a People’s Choice Award selected by audience vote, followed by a reception.
The overall winner will advance to represent N.C. A&T at the regional competition in February 2026 and, along with their advisor, will be recognized at the Graduate College’s Graduate Student Awards Ceremony in April.

Opening Dates

The scheduling windows for reserving Student Center and academic building spaces for the Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 semesters have been confirmed. Please review the dates below to see when your group may begin submitting reservation requests in 25 Live. Early scheduling is recommended to ensure availability.

Major/Outdoors will open on Oct. 27, 2025 and operate on a first come, first served basis. Please schedule within your designated window to secure your preferred space. All events, meetings, gatherings, and other socials taking place in bookable, campus locations must be requested through 25 Live. 

Effective Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, the 25Live scheduling system will transition to Single Sign-On (SSO). You will be able to access 25Live using your OneID credentials to sign in and reserve space for your events.

Chancellor's Speaker Series Welcomes Red Lobster CEO Damola Adamolekun

Damola Adamolekun, CEO of Red Lobster, headlines North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s upcoming Chancellor’s Speaker Series, “The CEO Edge – Commanding Every Opportunity.” Alumnus Craig Stokes ’04 will moderate the discussion.

Tickets for the speaker series will be available Nov. 3 at the University Ticket Office located in Brown Hall. This event is free and open to the public.

Virginia Tech’s Graduate School and the Center for Engineering Excellence and Discovery (CEED) are hosting a virtual Graduate Information Session on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at 6 p.m. EST.

The event will feature a panel of CEED graduate student ambassadors and cover topics such as what to expect in graduate school, finding funding, and steps to the doctorate. This session is designed to help prospective students learn about graduate school opportunities and resources at Virginia Tech. Participants can register by  visiting this link.

Cultural Leadership & Lavender Graduation Cords

This cord program recognizes graduating students campus-wide who have demonstrated support for cultural programs and services on campus. Candidates are eligible for the Cultural Program Cord, Lavender Cord, or both.

Coming Fall 2026 – Canvas by Instructure

North Carolina A&T State University will be transitioning to a new learning management system (LMS), Canvas, beginning with the Fall 2026 semester as a replacement for Blackboard. This shift aligns with a recent decision by the UNC Board of Governors to standardize on a single LMS across all UNC institutions. Canvas is widely adopted, integrates with many tools, and supports modern pedagogical features, offering a flexible and user-friendly environment for teaching and learning. 

The implementation team is actively developing the full transition plan, which will include:

  • A detailed timeline showing phases of migration, testing, and cutover
  • Course migration strategies and guidelines
  • Faculty, staff, and student training sessions
  • Course development assistance, including instructional design consultations

We understand that transitioning to a new system is a significant effort, and we commit to making this as smooth and supported as possible. As our planning progresses, we’ll share regular updates to keep you informed and help you prepare for the transition. In the meantime, we invite you to share any concerns or questions you may have—or let us know if you’re interested in volunteering as a Canvas Champion or Ambassador. Digital Navigator Program – Ongoing

F.D. Bluford Library has launched a pilot program to expand and support our laptop loans. Students, faculty, and staff can request to work with a digital navigator to support their digital inclusion needs.    The Digital Navigators at F.D. Bluford Library can help you:    Connect to free and low-cost internet options    Access digital literacy skills training    Recommend students to our laptop lending program    Request an appointment to work with a digital navigator:
