Coming Fall 2026 – Canvas by Instructure
North Carolina A&T State University will be transitioning to a new learning management system (LMS), Canvas, beginning with the Fall 2026 semester as a replacement for Blackboard. This shift aligns with a recent decision by the UNC Board of Governors to standardize on a single LMS across all UNC institutions. Canvas is widely adopted, integrates with many tools, and supports modern pedagogical features, offering a flexible and user-friendly environment for teaching and learning.

Course Advising and Registration
Registration begins on Nov. 3, 2025. Students register based on their earned credit hours.
Monday, Nov. 3, 2025 – Graduate Students and Seniors (90 or more earned credit hours)
Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025 – Juniors (60 – 89 earned credit hours)
Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025 – Sophomores (30 – 59 earned credit hours)
Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 – Freshmen (less than 30 earned credit hours)
When registering for classes, all students are required to OPT IN or OPT OUT of AggieAlert!, the university’s emergency notification system that sends text messages to your phone in the event of emergencies, life-threatening situations and/or inclement weather. Failure to opt-in or opt-out prior to class registration will result in a hold being placed on student accounts.
To prevent an account hold, log into Aggie Access/Aggie Alert and follow the instructions.
Commencement Fall 2025: Staff Assistance
As plans are underway for our upcoming fall 2025 commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 12 (graduate) and Saturday, Dec. 13 (undergraduate), we are seeking assistance from university staff.
We require all staff who work commencement to attend one of three training sessions that will be offered in the coming weeks. Please register for one of the training sessions noted below. New enhancements have been implemented and attending one of the sessions is critical to ensuring we deliver the best Aggie Experience for our graduates, friends and families.
Trainings will be held in the Alumni-Foundation Event Center.

Are you applying for a research grant or beginning a research study? If you don’t have a Data Management Plan (DMP), you’re going to need one! All federal funding agencies now require DMPs. Join us to see how data management planning improves the quality of your research project and benefits all members of the research team, as well as other scientists around the world. This workshop will cover the basics of comprehensive data management planning, including storage of and global access to your data. (Approximately 75 minutes)

The Alvin V. Blount Student Health Center, in partnership with Novant Health, is pleased to host a Mobile Mammogram Unit on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 9 a.m.. – 4 p.m. in the AVB Student Health Center Parking lot. This is a convenient opportunity to take care of your health by receiving a 3D mammography screening right here on campus. The minimum age for a screening mammogram is 35 years of age and insurance is required. We encourage you to reserve your appointment by Oct. 2.
Three Minute Thesis (3MT) at N.C. A&T: Call for Competitors - Apply by Oct. 19
Applications are now open for the Fall 2025 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition at N.C.A&T. Graduate students are invited to present their research in just three minutes using a single PowerPoint slide, with the chance to win up to $500.
The application deadline is Oct. 19 at midnight.
Judges for the preliminary round on Nov. 5 will select up to 10 finalists to compete in the finals set for Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 3–4:30 p.m. at the Joint School for Nanoscience and Nanoengineering auditorium. The finals will include a People’s Choice Award selected by audience vote, followed by a reception.
The overall winner will advance to represent N.C. A&T at the regional competition in February 2026 and, along with their advisor, will be recognized at the Graduate College’s Graduate Student Awards Ceremony in April.

Last Day to Withdraw from a Course
Oct. 20, 2025, 11:59 p.m.
The last day to withdraw from a course for fall 2025 without a grade evaluation is Oct. 20, 2025, at 11:59 pm. The course withdrawal is available through the Aggie Hub. Once the form is completed, please follow up with your advisor regarding the course withdrawal.
Students CANNOT use this option to withdraw from ALL of their classes for the
semester. To withdraw from all classes, students must use the official University Withdrawal form, available from registration@ncat.edu. The last day to withdraw from the University without a grade evaluation is Oct. 29, 2025.

N.C. A&T Welcomes Mac Barnett, Library of Congress’ National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature

Greensboro has been selected as one of only five cities nationwide to host the Library of Congress’ National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Mac Barnett. Known for his witty, imaginative, and endlessly engaging stories, Barnett is the ninth author to hold this honor.
Barnett will present Behold, The Picture Book! Let’s Celebrate Stories We Can Feel, Hear, and See, a joyful tribute to the legacy of children’s literature.

Digital Navigator Program – Ongoing
F.D. Bluford Library has launched a pilot program to expand and support our laptop loans. Students, faculty, and staff can request to work with a digital navigator to support their digital inclusion needs. The Digital Navigators at F.D.
