Data Management Planning for Researchers

Are you applying for a research grant or beginning a research study? If you don’t have a Data Management Plan (DMP), you’re going to need one! All federal funding agencies now require DMPs. Join us to see how data management planning improves the quality of your research project and benefits all members of the research team, as well as other scientists around the world. This workshop will cover the basics of comprehensive data management planning, including storage of and global access to your data. (Approximately 75 minutes)

Intro to Data Visualization

This workshop will deliver the basics of data visualization. You will learn important concepts and procedures to produce visualizations and simple yet effective methods to enhance how your data are visualized. Additionally, you will learn about the tools and software commonly used to produce various data visualizations. This workshop is geared for beginners and no prior experience is necessary.

The event is hosted by the University Writing Center in partnership with the departments of English, Economics, History and Political Science, and Liberal Studies. The goal is to demystify law school by giving students direct insight from people who are going through and who have been through the process from deciding to apply and completing the LSAT to succeeding in law school and building a legal career.

Hampton University and North Carolina A&T State University will compete in the 2026 NBA HBCU Classic, presented by AT&T, as part of NBA All-Star 2026 at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles.

The Udall Foundation Scholarship offers up to $7,500 per academic year for sophomores and juniors interested in careers related to the environment, Tribal policy, or Native health care. This is a nationally competitive award that supports students committed to leadership and service in these areas.

Astronaut Scholarship Application is Now Open

Apply by Feb. 15

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation is offering up to $15,000 to exceptional undergraduate students who are rising juniors or seniors in STEM fields and conducting research. Any STEM major may apply, and you do not need to become an astronaut to qualify! The deadline to submit interest, eligibility, and nominations is Feb. 15, 2026, at 5 p.m. (EST). N.C. A&T's Computational Research Leadership Council is hosting a virtual seminar on Blowing Up Stars On Supercomputers. The seminar will feature Dr. Bronson Messer, a Distinguished Staff Scientist and Director of Science at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) at ORNL. It will be hosted via Zoom and cover the formation of neutron stars and black holes, the generation of gravitational waves, and more!

Seminar: Enabling Appalachia's Economic Mobility through Demand-driven Intermodal and Multimodal Mobility Option

Join our upcoming virtual seminar featuring Karen Lightman, Executive Director of Safety21 and Metro21: Smart Cities Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, titled “Enabling Appalachia’s Economic Mobility through Demand-driven Intermodal and Multimodal Mobility Option.” In this presentation, Lightman will highlight a multi-state mobility initiative supported by an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) ARISE Planning Grant, focused on reducing transportation barriers that limit access to jobs, education, and healthcare in Appalachian communities. Attendees will learn how data-driven planning, stakeholder engagement, and a pilot deployment in Greene County, Pennsylvania demonstrate the potential of integrated on-demand and fixed-route transit to strengthen long-term economic opportunity across the region.

The Living Archives Project: Your Memories, Our History

F.D. Bluford Library’s Living Archives Project is an initiative to preserve the vibrant experiences and shared memories of N.C. A&T. students. Through the collection of student-contributed photographs, the Library aims to document the spirit, creativity, and everyday life of the Aggie community. This living archive ensures that the stories, traditions, and moments that define each generation are captured and preserved as part of the University’s history.

Coming Fall 2026 – Canvas by Instructure

North Carolina A&T State University will transition to a new learning management system (LMS), Canvas, for the Fall 2026 semester as a replacement for Blackboard. Canvas is widely adopted, integrates with many tools, and supports modern pedagogical features, offering a flexible and user-friendly environment for teaching and learning.
Information sessions for faculty, chairs, and administrative staff are scheduled for November and December 2025. Click here to register. Training will begin January 2026. Visit the Canvas Implementation website for FAQs and more information about the transition.

Digital Navigator Program – Ongoing

F.D. Bluford Library has launched a pilot program to expand and support our laptop loans. Students, faculty, and staff can request to work with a digital navigator to support their digital inclusion needs.    The Digital Navigators at F.D. Bluford Library can help you:    Connect to free and low-cost internet options    Access digital literacy skills training    Recommend students to our laptop lending program    Request an appointment to work with a digital navigator:
