Panopto
Panopto is the university’s new video content management system designed to make creating and sharing video content easier. It serves as a personal media hub where users can record videos, upload presentations, manage lectures, and share content securely with students, colleagues, and departments. Panopto provides a user-friendly space to organize, deliver, and analyze video-based materials.
Panopto is available for faculty, staff, and students.
Faculty: Panopto integrates directly with Blackboard and Canvas, making it simple to post recordings inside courses. Lessons can be pre-recorded for flipped learning, student engagement can be tracked through built-in analytics, and video content can be shared across teams, departments, or classrooms. In the classroom, lectures can be recorded for review and accessibility, supplementing live sessions with video tutorials to help students who miss class or need additional reinforcement.
Staff: Panopto allows users to record videos for seminars, meetings, or presentations. For campus and professional use, Panopto can be used to create onboarding or training videos for staff, archive department meetings and presentations, and record guest speakers, workshops, and conferences.
Students: Students can use Panopto to view class recordings, revisit complex topics, and record presentations and demonstrations for class projects and assignments. These features make it easier for students to learn, practice, and showcase their work.
