Division of Research and Economic Development

The Division of Research & Economic Development manages all aspects of the research enterprise for the university led by the Vice Chancellor for Research & Economic Development. The Division is made up of the Vice Chancellor’s management team, the Offices of Sponsored Programs, Office of Intellectual Property and Commercialization, Office of Research Compliance and Ethics, Office of Research Services and Project Management,  Office of Financial Compliance and Office of Contracts & Grants.

The Division’s responsibilities include identification of funding opportunities; proposal development and preparation; proposal submission; research compliance oversight; project setup, monitoring, invoicing, and closeout; intellectual property protection and commercialization; managing subcontracts, non-disclosure agreements, and material transfer agreements; and reporting to sponsoring agencies.
