Learning and Development Resources

Self-directed courses allow you to refine your professional skills at a pace and time that works best for you.  These on-demand resources are available free of charge, require no preapproval, may be taken in any sequence and as many times as desired.  Certified courses are available in the following areas:

An extensive number of professional development workshops are offered each semester and during the summer.  There are no prerequisites or preapprovals needed and they can be taken in any sequence that meets your learning  goals.  Workshops are currently offered in the in the following areas:

Step Up To Supervisor is a half day event for individuals who aspire to lead and manage others.  It provides participants with a realistic understanding of what people leadership involves from a time, skills, and processes perspective.  By the end of the session participants will be able to make informed decisions about whether they want to pursue and/or accept a managerial role at N.C. Professional Development Day (PDD)

Professional Development Day is a unique and popular event at A&T that brings faculty, staff and administrators together for a day of learning.  In one session you may find yourself in a small group with a Vice Chancellor and in another session working with an officer from the University Police Department.    It is a rich opportunity to build relationships and learn what is happening across the campus.  Each conference has a specific theme with aligned workshop topics.  This year’s theme and date will be announced through all campus communication outlets.  Registration is available two weeks prior to the conference.

Empowered To Lead Conference (E2L)

Empowered To Lead is an international, one day virtual conference designed to encourage and support women leaders in higher education.  Conference topics include the humorous, innovative, and insightful, as well as the practical imperatives of network building and excellence in teaching and research.  It is a day for women to come together to support, teach, and celebrate each other.  Each year’s theme and date are announced through all campus communication outlets.  Registration is available 30 days prior to the conference.
