Connecting to Aggie Student Wireless

Aggiestudent Wireless Setup for Windows OS:  7, 8, and 10

1. Right click on the wireless icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

2. Select “Open Network & Sharing Center”.

3. (A window will open) Select “Set up a new connection or network”.

4. (New window opens) Select “Manually connect to a wireless network” and click NEXT.

5. Network Name = aggiestudent; Security Type = WPA2-Enterprise; Click Next.

6. You will come to a screen that says “Successfully added aggiestudent”.  DO NOT CLICK CLOSE!!!

7. Select “Change connection settings”.

8. (New window opens) Select the “Security” tab.

9. On the security tab, click on “Settings”.

10. (New window opens – Protected EAP Properties) Uncheck “Validate server certificate” and then a. Click on “Configure” to uncheck “Automatically use my Windows logon name and password” Press OK to close the “Configure” window b. Press OK to close the “Protected EAP Properties” window.

11. You should now be back at the “aggiestudent Wireless Network Properties” window.

12. At the bottom, click on “Advanced Settings” to open another window
a. On the 802.1X settings tab, Check the box that says “Specify authentication mode”
b. In the dropdown box, select “User authentication” and click “Save Credentials”
c. Students: Enter your username ONLY and blackboard password
i. Username: username
ii. Password: blackboard password
d. Press Ok to close the “Save Credentials” window
e. Press Ok again to close the “Advanced settings” window.


13. Press OK once more to close the “aggiestudent Wireless Network Properties” window.

14. Click back on your wireless icon to make sure your computer has connected to the network.
